A recent review published by the Annals of Internal Medicine concludes that adding corticosteroids to antibiotics in the treatment of sore throat improves symptom resolution without increasing adverse side effects. The various trials used different steroids and different doses, so no specific guidance was given regarding this.

The Framingham Risk Score seems to also apply to the prediction of cognitive decline in addition to predicting adverse cardiovascular events. A recent study from the journal Neurology, found that risk assessment tests for cardiovascular disease also were predictive of mental decline 10 years later.
